PRE-KINDERGARTEN (5) / ALL DAY KINDERGARTEN (6)
When a child turns
five, s/he moves to the Pre-K/Kindergarten classroom. This two-year program uses a curriculum consistent with the Indiana
State Guidelines to expand children’s understanding of themselves and the world in which they live. The thematic curriculum
exposes 24 children to concepts of physical science, seasons, literacy, cultural diversity, numbers, the community and more.
The five-year-olds (Pre-K) are exposed to the material and are provided opportunities to work with projects related to the
weekly theme.
The six-year-olds in this class work with the same materials as their younger classmates,
but are guided to master the skills expected of children as they enter first grade. In addition, our program emphasizes personal
and social skill development so that children are competent and confident as they move forward.
Our All-Day-Kindergarten is enriching for the children and very helpful to working parents. In a typical kindergarten
program, children attend school for three hours then working parents must leave work mid-day to take their children to child
care. Our all-day program allows parents to focus on their work while at work, knowing that their children are learning all
they should in kindergarten.
